When Kailey first called me, I was unclear about which type of session she might need, but she was adamant that she wanted feng shui on her house. I drove to the home with no information other than that.

Upon arriving I noticed that the house presented an upscale appeal at first glance, but closer inspection showed loose fittings, missing nails, unconnected wires and other minor details that caught my attention.

As Kailey walked me around the house, I noticed dark-ish and stuck energy in her brother’s room, and some bathrooms that were leaking energy down the drains. But nothing major. That is, until she took me to the back patio. I was hit with a negative blast immediately and noted the large cracked, empty slab in the area representing love, marriage and partnership. I’d never had such a terrible feeling when doing feng shui work before (or since.) I asked Kailey what was going on with her relationship, which is when she began pouring out the story.

It turned out that the house was actually her mother’s house, that her mother was currently in a rehab facility for habitual lifetime drug use, and that her father had divorced her mother the year prior, left town and subsequently committed suicide. Kailey and her brother wanted to sell the house, but nothing was moving forward.

As we continued walking and talking, we got to the garage, which was in the area of travel and helpful people. The garage door was broken and hanging crooked with a gap at the floor on one side–and the automatic opener was not operational. The entire two-car area was literally stacked to the brim with all types of furniture, boxes, appliances and junk. All of the items were the former possessions of the recently-dead father, which had been shipped to them–she and her brother still needed to go through everything and sell or give it away.

The “prescription” for this house was crystal clear. Critical actions were needed as soon as they could be arranged. They needed to create a beautiful outdoor, landscaped “room” on the bleak patio area to reset the energy and create new order in the marriage and relationship area. And they needed to clear out the garage as soon as possible, and get the garage door fixed. We did a spiritual cleansing of the possessions in the garage and asked to make sure that the father’s soul was not stuck somewhere. Luckily, that was not the case.

I was happy to hear from Kailey within just a few weeks. She had attracted an amazing boyfriend–he was a landscaper who completely transformed the patio along with Kailey and her brother.  They had begun clearing the garage and the garage door was fixed. Kailey had also gotten a new job. She couldn’t stop marveling that nearly every aspect of her life had been transformed. The house was soon sold.

The moral of this story is that 1) feng shui works 2) it’s incredible 3) if you take action, that is the real energy behind feng shui 4) do not leave broken items or clutter in your home.
